In the early 2000's computer hardware and technology was gaining traction in Malaysia with more and more people getting interested in the inner workings of computers and technology, it was the beginnings of the budding enthusiast community we have all come to know and love. At the epicentre of this movement was Imbi Plaza and Plaza Low Yat where people could scratch whatever itch they had and get whatever piece of hardware they needed for the next upgrade or enhancement.
In an effort to bring enthusiasts from all over Malaysia together as one, Vijandren Ramandass (affectionately known by his screen name, Se7en) started what we now know as Lowyat.NET, a place where people from all over Malaysia could gain an insight to the local industry, get the latest prices from retailers at Low Yat Plaza & Imbi Plaza as well as discuss and get help with various disciplines in the massive world of consumer technology.
From there, the Lowyat Forum was given a face in the form of the frontpage where Malaysians could find out the latest tech news from all over the world as well as read reviews and articles about the latest products in the market.
Fast forward 10 years and Lowyat.NET has secured its place as leader of the online space with the title of Malaysia's Largest Online Community, boasting a forum with more than half a million members as well as an average of seven million unique visitors a month. Lowyat.NET has forged ahead, working as media partners for many large events and conventions as well as becoming a household name as the place to go for all things tech and everything else.
